RESOLUTION NO. 97-5843
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE
STRAND PEDESTRIAN & BHKEWAY AND STRAND WALL BETWEEN 24TH AND
35TH STREETS.
WHEREAS, Transportation Improvement Program funds TIP will be available for bikeway
and pedestrian projects of regional significance; and
WHEREAS, these TIP funds will be allocated at the discretion of the Los Angeles County
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) for new facility construction, major reconstruction,
Ior for off-street bikeway maintenance.
WHEREAS, the City of Hermosa Beach desires to reconstruct surface of the bikeway
system on the Strand, and to reconstruct the Strand wall adjacent to the bikeway from 24th to 35th
street utilizing the funds available.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH,
CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To adopt the Bikeway System in conformance with the specifications of
Caltrans' Planning and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California and the Regional Transportation
Plan.
SECTION 2. To authorize the City Manager or his designee, as the City's authorized
signature and designated contact person.
SECTION 3. To apply for all funds available to the City of Hermosa Beach allocated for
bikeways and pedestrian facilities.

I, Naoma Valdes, Deputy City Clerk of the City Council of the
City of Hermosa Beach, California, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution No. 97-5843 was duly and regularly passed, approved and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach at a Regular Meeting of
said Council at the regular place thereof on January 28, 1997.
