HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES-99-5968 (JUVENILE/RELEASE FUNDS)1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 99-5968 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF FUNDS AVAILABLE UNDER THE JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT (JAIBG) TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES WHEREAS the City of Hermosa Beach declines to directly accept funds made available through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG) Program administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP). NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Hermosa Beach waives its right to its entire direct sub -grant award and authorizes the funds to be expended by the County of Los Angeles for the purpose of hiring a Deputy District Attorney for the vertical prosecution of juvenile offenders in the Inglewood Juvenile Court. This will be accomplished through the Community Law Enforcement and Recovery Program (CLEAR). IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
