HomeMy WebLinkAboutDELETE NOT SIGNED 05-6399 Natural Hazards Mitigation 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 05-6399 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, TO ADOPT THE NATURAL HAZARDS MITIGATION PLAN WHEREAS, the federal Disaster Management Act of 2000 (DMA 2000), which amended the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Services Act, requires every local, county and state government to have an approved Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (“Plan”) in order to be eligible for pre- and post-disaster grants and funding; and WHEREAS, the Hermosa Beach Plan focuses on potential impacts of earthquakes, flooding, tsunamis, and windstorms, and includes an assessment of these natural hazards, a plan to mitigate them, and methods of monitoring, evaluating, and updating the Plan at least every fire years. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. To adopt the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan. SECTION 2. To grant authority to the City Manager to amend and update the Plan. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption hereof.
