HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 14-6891 (BLOCK GRANT BUDGET)1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 9R RESOLUTION NO. 14-6891 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Los Angeles County's Community Development Commission estimated tha the City's CDBG allocation for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 is $66,000. SECTION 2. The City Council, pursuant to applicable law, held a duly noticed public hearing on January 28, 2014 to consider the proposed CDBG allocation and budget, at which hearing testimony and evidence, both written and oral, was presented to and considered by the Council. SECTION 3. Based on the foregoing, the City Council hereby approves a proposed CDBG program budget as follows and directs staff to submit the required documentation to the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission for approval: 1. Allocate an estimated $56,100 for retrofitting the Civic Center, Community Center and the Clark Building with self -opening doors that meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. This allocation is to be combined with Fiscal Year 2013-2014 CDBG funding for the same project, increasing the project funding from $70,059 to an estimated $126,159. 2. Allocate up to $9,900 to public service agencies pending review of funding requests and organizations' eligibility status in accordance with CDBG guidelines. SECTION 4. The City Council hereby authorizes City staff to adjust the preceding program budget as necessary to take into account the final consultation, planning and design fees for the retrofitting project and any amounts remaining unspent at the close of the fiscal year. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall cause the original of the same to be entered among the original Resolutions of the City Council, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the minutes of the City Council meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
