HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 14-6900 (HIGH PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATION)1 2 3 4 5 6 7 a 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 ?R RESOLUTION NO. 14-6900 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, VALUING EMPLOYEES AND THE BUILDING OF A HIGH PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATION WHEREAS, the City of Hermosa Beach adopted a Mission Statement as part of i Strategic Plan, which included the City's desire to value employees and volunteers; and WHEREAS, one of the City's goals is to be a high performing City providing first services; and WHEREAS, one of the action items under this goal is to develop the High Organization (HPO) model as the primary organizational structure and culture; and WHEREAS, the City has taken the step of committing time and resources building a High Performance Organization culture; and WHEREAS, High Performance Organizations (HPOs) are identified by their high level of employee engagement, which results from a consultative and participative organizational philosophy including collaboration and employee empowerment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND DECLARE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City shall make every effort to support the building of a culture and organizational structure. SECTION 2. That the City shall support, recognize and value its employees as front line leaders in this cultural transition. SECTION 3. That the City's leadership philosophy shall conform to the HPO model with an emphasis on an increase in employee engagement and improved service. That employees will be valued and recognized for their contributions commitment via generally accepted HPO methods. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately. The City Clerk shall ce to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall cause the original of the same to be ent among the original resolutions of the City Council, and shall make a minute of the passage adoption thereof in the minutes of the City Council meeting at which the same is passed adopted.
