HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 14-6912 (FIRE DEPARTMENT-HYBRID BEACON)2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 9R RESOLUTION NO. 14-6912 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE DESIGN AND PLANS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CIP NO. 12-153 HERMOSA BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY HYBRID BEACON INSTALLATION, PROJECT PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 830.6 AND ESTABLISHING A PROJECT PAYMENT ACCOUNT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH DOES FIND, RESOLVE AND DECLARE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City retained Hartzog & Crabill, Inc. ("Consultant") as the engineer to design and prepare the plans for CIP No. 12-153 Hermosa Beach Fire Department Emergency) Hybrid Beacon Installation ("Project"); WHEREAS, the Consultant informed the City Engineer that these plans are complete that construction of the Project may begin; WHEREAS, the City Engineer reviewed the completed design and plans for the Project and agrees with the Consultant that the plans are complete and the Project may be constructed; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to obtain the immunities set forth in Government Code § 830.6 with regard to the plans and construction of the Project. Design Immunity; Authorization. WHEREAS, the design and plans for the Project are determined to be consistent with the City's standards and are approved; WHEREAS, the design approval set forth in this Resolution occurred before actual work on the Project construction commenced; Plan; WHEREAS, the approval granted by this Resolution conforms with the City's General Page 1 of 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 2Y ?R WHEREAS, the City Engineer, or designee, is authorized to act on the City's behalf in approving any alterations or modifications of the design and plans approved by this Resolution; and WHEREAS, the approval and authorization granted by this Resolution is intended to avail the City of the immunities set forth in Government Code § 830.6. Project Payment Account. SECTION 1. For purposes of the Contract Documents administering the Project, the City Council directs the City Manager, or designee, to establish a fund containing sufficient monies from the current fiscal year budget to pay for the Project ("Project Payment Account"). The Project Payment Account is the sole source of funds available for the Contract Sum, as defined in the Contract Document administering the Project. SECTION 2. This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall cause the original of the same to be entered among the original resolutions of the City Council, and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the minutes of the meeting at which the Resolution is adopted.
