RESOLUTION NO. 16-7038
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING THE CITY'S
COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY AND COLLABORATIVE/
PROACTIVE EFFORTS TO HOLD SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
ACCOUNTABLE FOR ITS SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Hermosa Beach has experienced several power outages over the
last six months, with multiple outages occurring during peak business hours;
WHEREAS, service reliability is an ongoing issue for the City of Hermosa Beach based
on reliability figures/reports presented by Southern California Edison; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison has committed to working with the City to
upgrade old infrastructure and improve service reliability.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Hermosa Beach is committed to working proactively
and collaboratively with other agencies (i.e., neighboring cities, South Bay Cities Council of
Governments (SBCCOG), Independent Cities Association (ICA), and State elected officials to
ensure accountability for services and to mitigate service interruptions to our residents and
businesses.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered among the original resolutions of
said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which time same is
passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of July, 2016.
