HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 22-7338 (CALTRANS)CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH RESOLUTION NO. 22-7338 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A TERMINATION STATEMENT TERMINATING THE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CALTRANS) CONCERNING THE MOBILITYAND ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS ON PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY (PCH) BETWEEN HERONDO STREET/ANITA STREET AND ARTESIA BOULEVARD, AND ON AVIATION BOULEVARD BETWEEN PCH TO PROSPECT AVENUE, CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP 143), WHEREBY CALTRANS WOULD PREPARE THE PROJECT APPROVAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT (PA & ED) FOR THE PROJECT WHEREAS, on September 27, 2016, Council Approved Cooperative Agreement No. 07-5108 by and between the City of Hermosa Beach and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) which provided for Caltrans to prepare the Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA & ED) for the Project referred to as “CIP 143 – PCH Mobility Improvement Project in Hermosa Beach, on Pacific Highway (PCH) between Herondo St./Anita St. and Artesia Boulevard and on Aviation Boulevard between PCH and Prospect Avenue”; and WHEREAS, following the approval of the Termination Statement, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation (Metro) will enter onto a Cooperative Agreement with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) replacing the City – Caltrans Cooperative agreement and providing for both parties to work on the PA & ED for CIP 143 – PCH Mobility Improvement Project in Hermosa Beach, on Pacific Highway (PCH) between Herondo St./Anita St. and Artesia Boulevard, and on Aviation Boulevard between PCH and Prospect Avenue, to improve safety operations, mobility and provide aesthetic elements, utilizing the previously completed Project Study Report / Project Development Support (PSR/PDS) completed for the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY SECTION 1. Approve the Termination Statement, thereby terminating Cooperative Agreement No. 07-5108 by and between the City of Hermosa Beach and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) which provided for Caltrans to prepare the Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA & ED) for the Project referred to as “PCH Mobility Improvement Project in Hermosa Beach, on Pacific Highway (PCH) between Herondo St./Anita St. and Artesia Boulevard, and on Aviation Boulevard between PCH and Prosect Avenue”. #22-7338 DocuSign Envelope ID: 3628EA98-2087-4F4F-9046-D74AB52A62E8 PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED on this 9 day of August, 2022.
