A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH TO NOT
APPROVE THE CONCEPT OF BED AND BREAKFAST FOR RENT ROOMS IN THE CITY OF
HERMOSA BEACH.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing January 4, 1983 to
consider the possibility of permitting Bed and Breakfast for Rent Rooms in
the City of Hermosa Beach; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission does not believe that there would be suf-
fici.ent year round demand for this type of accodmodation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes that Hermosa Beach already has
severe parking problems in residential zones, and the potential increase
in demand for parking generated by Bed and Breakfast guests would further
exacerbate the situation; and
WHEREAS, Bed and Breakfasts would have to be strictly regulated to ensure
that rooms were not being rented as boot-leg units; and
WHEREAS, there are no overriding benefits to be derived from permitting Bed
and Breakfasts in the City which would mitigate the adverse impacts associ-
ated with the project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
HERMOSA BEACH DOES HEREBY RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF HERMOSA BEACH
THAT THE CONCEPT OF BED AND BREAKFAST FOR RENT ROOMS IN HERMOSA BEACH NOT
B.E APPROVED.
