RESOLUTION NO. 83~7 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF HERMOSA BEACH DENYING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ZONING CODE ARTICLE 8, SECTION 802, WHICH WOULD ELIMINATE THE 3-STORY HEIGHT LIMIT ON STRUCTURES IN COMMERCIAL ZONES. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a hearing on February l, 1983 to consider amending the zoning code by deleting the 3-story height limitation on commercial structures; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the intent of the zoning code is to limit structures to 3-stories, and that the 45 foot height limit is in- cluded to provide for architectural fexibility; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that current parking regulations in the VPD and PAID sector would not act as a limitation on build-out to the maximum height; and WHEREAS, th .e Planning Commission decided that the 3-story limit serves the specific purpose of maintaining the current characteristics of the City's commercial zones and should remain in Article 8, Section 802 of the zoning code, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach does hereby deny the proposed amendment to delete the 3-story height limitation from the zoning code.
