RESOLUTION 83-8 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN BY CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION AT 1529 VALLEY DRIVE FROM OPEN SPACE TO COMMER- CIAL, AND A ZONE CHANGE FROM MANUFACTURING TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held public hearings on March 1, 1983, March 15, 1983 and April 5, 1983 to cdnsider this matter; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that California State Law requires that city zoning ordinances be consistent with local general plans; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that this general plan amendment and zone change will not introduce any change to the physical environment; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that the subject prop- erty, legally described as the NW 100' of Lots 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, Hiss Addition to Hermosa Beach Trac·t, is presently occupied by commer- cial development and has been utilized for commercial purposes for several years; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that this general plan amendment and zone change will contribute significantly to conformance with existing and past use of the property, which have proven to be compatible with its surrounding environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 'RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does hereby recommend to the City Council, that the Land Use Element of the General Plan be amended by changing the land use designation at 1529 Valley Drive from open space to commercial, and a zone change from manufacturing to general commercial.
