HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Resolution 83-14r RESOLUTION P.C. 83-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING CODE, SECTION 1165, PARKING AREA IN R-3 OR T-P ZONES, TO ALLOW PARKING LOTS (AS PRIMARY USES) IN R-3 ZONES. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 3, 1983 to consider this matter; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes the City 1 s parking space shortage; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes the R-3 zoned areas yield the greatest demand for parking within residential zones; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that to introduce a land use markedly different from that which permeates the environment, would notably disrupt the existing pattern and might possibly foster future neighborhood characteristics not desired ; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that an adequate mechanism in Section 1165 exists for parking. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, California does hereby deny an amendment to the Zoning Code, Section 1165, Parking Area in R-3 and R-P zones to allow parking lots as primary uses. AYES: Comm.
