A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS OF THE CITY OF
HERMOSA BEACH, GRANTING A VARIANCE FROM ENCLOSED GARAGE REQUIRE-
MENTS UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1281 14th STREET IN THE
CITY -oF. HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA.
THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH does resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS, there was filed with this Board, under the provisions of Ordinance
N. S. 154, application for a variance by Mr. & Mrs. Gary J. Chance upon
property owned by applicants and located at 1281 14th Street; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of Hermosa Beach did
on October 27, 1969, conduct a pub) ic hearing to consider this application
to permit an addition to an existing single-family residence of two bed-
rooms consisting of 10 1 by 16 1 each and an off-street parking stall 8 1 511
by 20 1 in I ieu of a required enclosed garage; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing there was presented written and oral
testimony on the property described as follows:
Jot 83, Hermosa Heights tract
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in view of the findings at said hear-
ing the Board of Zoning Adjustments does hereby grant this variance for
the following reasons:
I. The existing single-family residence is so located on the Jot
that in order to provide garage facilities it would entail
relocating the structure.
2. Normally the adding of bedrooms does not increase the parking
prob) ems.
3. The adding of the off-street parking stall will provide facilities
that presently do not exist.
4. The granting of such variance will not be detrimental to the
pub) ic welfare or injurious to the property or improvements in
the inmediate area.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the Board of Zoning Adjustments
at a regular meeting held October 27, 1969, by the following vote:
AYES: Comm. Ostermann, Williams, Reeves
