RESOLUTION P. C. 82-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH DENYING A ZONE CHANGE REQUEST FROM R-3 TO C-3 AT 710
SECOND STREET, LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOT 99 OF WALTER RANSOM'S
COMPANY VENABLE PLACE.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach
held a public hearing on April 20, 1982, to consider a zone
change ·request from R-3 to C-3 for property located at 710
Second Street; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the size and
topography of the area, the traffic situation, its current use
and neighboring uses, the general plan land use designation of
multi-use; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds: the commercial use
along the South side of Second Street, of which the zone
change request is a part, already extends beyond the North side
of the street; a zone change to C-3 will increase traffic on
Second Street; the property is surrounded on three sides by
residential development of R-1 character and extending the
commercial zone any further would disr~pt that pattern; and
the current zoning is consistent with the general plan desig-
nation of multi-use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach does hereby deny the request for
a zone change frpm R-3 to C-3 at 710 Second Street, legally
described as Lot 99 of Walter Ransom's Company Venable Place.
