A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF HERMOSA BEACH
APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF HERMOSA
BEACH THE ADDITION AND DELETION OF USES PERMITTED BY SECTION
800-B OF THE ZONING CODE IN THE C-2 11 GENERAL COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT" FOR PURPOSES OF ENCOURAGING COMMERCIAL-RECREATIONAL
USES.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach held 2
public hearings on April 7 and May 4, 1982 to consider the
uses. permitted in the C-2 11 General Commercial Districts 11 ;
and
WHEREAS, the Coastal Development and Design Section of the
Local Coastal Plan includes a stated ·ruture policy 11 That
the City should promote beach and recreational facilities
and related development by refining the commercial (C-2)
zone to encourage commercial-recreational uses 11
; and
WHEREASi the Local Coastal Plan Phase III Work Program states,
11 Revision of the commercial (C-2) zone will be necessary
to encourage commerc ia 1-recreational uses 11
;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning ·Commission
of Hermosa Beach hereby recommends to the City Council of
Her-mesa Beach that the uses permitted in the C-2 11 General
Commercia 1 Dis tric t.11 currently encourage comm·ercial-recr-ea t ional
uses and need not be ~evised in order to comply with the
Local Coastal Plan.
