RESOLUTION P,C. 82-15
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO EXAMINE
THE ZONING AND GENERAL PLAN IN THE MULTI-USE CORRIDOR WITH
THE INTENTION OF CHANGING THE GENERAL PLAN TD CONFORM WITH
THE ?ONING.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission is not pursuing widening
the commercial interests in the multi-use corridor and restrict-
ing the existing zoning; and ,;;"'-12
WHEREAS, those R-2 and R-1 lots in the multi-use corridor are
consistent with medium density residential and .low density
residential land use designations and should be designated
as such; and
WHEREAS, in 1979 when the Planning Commission considered the
rezoning to commercial in the multi-use corridor in the South
part of town, there was substantial residential opposition
and no support from the commercial community with the excep-
tion of the President of the Ch~mber of Commerce, Jim Fucile;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has currently sent a letter
to the Chamber of Commerce in an attempt to initiate plans
to mediate the increased commercial usage in the North end
of town;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission
shall conduct a public hearing to consider changing the General
Plan in the multi-use corridor to be consistent with the
R-1, R-2 and commercial usage areas.
