Pledge of Allegiance 2. Roll Call Section I Consent Calendar Planning Commissioner wishing to pull an item from below may do so at this time. 3. Approval of July 3, July 17 and August 7, 1990 minutes 4. Approval of (a) Resolution P.C. 90-51 approving a conditional Use Permit and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #22256 for a 2-unit con- dominium at 610 11th Street. (b) Resolution P.C. 90-52 approving a Conditional Use Permit and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #22062 for a 4-unit con- dominium at 1634 Prospect Avenue. (c) Resolution P.C. 90-53 approving a variance to allow a second story addition to a nonconforming single-family dwelling with a substandard size parking stall at 1781 Val- ley Park Avenue. (d) Resolution P.C. 90-55 approving Conditional Use Permit and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #21787 for a 2-unit condomini- um at 952 8th Street. (e) Resolution P.C. 90-56 approving a Conditional Use permit and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #22216 for a 2-unit con- dominium at 830 Cypress Avenue. (f) Resolution P.C. 90-59 denying a request for exception, pur- suant to Section 13-7(c)(3) to continue a nonconforming sideyard up to the second story at 1781 Valley Park Avenue. - 1 - (g) Resolution P.C. 90-62 approving a Conditional Use Permit amendment and Parking Plan to expand existing cafe for din- ner & cocktail service, and to include live entertainment and dancing at 1018 Hermosa Avenue, Comedy Magic Club, and adoption of a Negative Declaration. (h) Resolution P.C. 90-63 approving a Conditional Use Permit and Parking Plan for health and fitness facility with retail at 1106 Hermosa Avenue, and adoption of a Negative Declaration. (i) Resolution P.C. 90-66 recommending approval of a text amendment to add installation of automobile audio equipment and alarms as a permitted use in the C-3 zone with a Condi- tional Use Permit and adoption of an Negative Declaration. (j) Resolution P.C. 90-67 a resolution of intention to study a possible text amendment to give the Planning Commission greater discretion in allowing the continuation of noncon- forming sideyards for additions and expansions. Section II Communications 5. Anyone wishing to address the Commission regarding a matter not related to a public hearing on the agenda may do so at this time. Section III Hearing 6. Interpretation of C-3 zone permitted use list "auto sales & parts" to include "motorcycle sales & parts" as one in the same (continued from August 7, 1990 meeting). Recommended Action: To direct staff as deemed appropriate. Section IV Public Hearings 7. CUP 90-19 --Conditional Use Permit amendment to allow sales of motorcycles, accessories, and minor repair at 638 -640 Pacific Coast Highway, South Bay Cycles. (continued from July 17, 1990 meeting). Recommended Action: To approve said Conditional Use Permit amendment. 8. SUB 86-2 --Supplemental environmental assessment for the re- vised grading plan for an eight-lot subdivision at 532, 534 & 540 20th Street, commonly known as "The Power Street Subdivi- sion" (continued from 4/3/90, 5/1/90 & 6/5/90 meetings). Recommended Action: To continue to a date certain. - 2 - 9. CUP 90-17 --Conditional Use Permit amendment to add a retail use to an existing restaurant and adoption of a Environmental Negative Declaration at 203 Hermosa Avenue, Beach Moda. Recommended Action: To approve said Conditional Use Permit and adopt an Environmental Negative Declaration. 10. SUB 90-1 --Request for approval of Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #21943 for a three lot subdivision of property located at 588 20th Street. 11. Recommended Action: To approve said subdivision. CUP 90-4 -- height of a School. Recommended amendment. Conditional Use Permit amendment to increase the fence at 340 Massey Avenue, Our Lady of Guadalupe Action: To approve said Conditional Use Permit Section V Hearings 12. Rescission of the approval of a new electronic marquee at the Community Center (continued from August 7, 1990 meeting). Recommended Action: To rescind said approval. 13. CUP 89-5 --To consider City Council suggested changes to the Conditional Use Permit for the improvements to the Mobil Oil Service Station at 931 Pacific Coast Highway (referred back from 6/12/90 City Council). Recommended Action: To concur with the changes proposed by the City Council except to allow four pump islands. Section VI 14. Staff Items a. Communication regarding 160 Manhattan Avenue, Bayview Sanitarium. b. Tentative future Planning Commission agenda. c. City Council minutes of July 24, 1990. d.
