A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH DENYING A ZONE AMENDMENT UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
EAST 8f AlUJ.MeRE BBTWffiN 16TH AND 21ST S'IREETS IN THE CI TY OF
HERMOSA BEACH_, CALIFORNIA
THE PLANNING COMl-0:SSION of the City of Hermosa Beach does resolve as follows:
WHERE.AS, there was filed with this Commission, under the provisions of
Ordinance N. s. 154, application for zone amendment by John T. and Philip G,
Shaw affecting property located east of Ardmore between 16th and 21st Streets; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach di d on May 15,
June 12 and July lo, 1961, conduct a duly advertised public hearing to consider
this application to permit ra~oning fromM to R-3 that property described as
follows:
South 50' of Lot 9 and all of Lot 10,
Block 81, Second Addition to Hermosa Be ach;
NOW~ THEREFORE.,, BE IT RESOLVED that, in view of t he finding s at s aid h earing ,
the Planning Commission does hereby deny this zone amendment, for the r e a s ons
that i t has not been shown under Articl e 1 5 , Section 1 500 , of t h e zoning
ordinance that this is required for public nece ssity , convenienc e or g~neral
welfare; this i s a part of such a large area that a s tudy sh ould be made and
an understanding of the full area be attained;· and it is evident that a plan
should be promulgat-ed for that particular area, further study being needed to
determine its best use.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regular
meeting held on July 10, 1961, by the following vote:
