A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE UPON CF.RTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
ON 18TH .STREET I N THE CI TY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA
THE. PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEAOH does. resol ve as follows :
WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission., under the provisions of
Ordinance N. s. 154,application fQr zone variance by Evelyn Abston upon
property owned by the applicant and located at 60-18th Street; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Commia.sion of t he Cit y of Hermosa Beach did on
November 13, 1961, conduct a public hearing t o consider this application
to permit conversion of existing two-unit, two-garage structure into a
four-car garage with single unit above, and to add o.ver 30% f l oor area
consisting of t hree units; existing structure having a 3' easterly sideyard
in lieu of required 4.85'; ~ddition to have 4.85' sideyards·but to ettend
to front property line in l i eu of required 5' front set back, on that
property descri bed a$ follows:
Lot 12 and the northeasterly 18.5' of Lot 11,
BlQck 18, Hermosa Beach Tr act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in vl.ew of the findin.g:pt said hearing,
the Planning Commission does hereby grant this zone variance for a 2' front
setback in lieu of the required 5', with open balcony extending to front
property line, f o:rft;he reason that t his will permit the owner t<ffenjoy the
same setback as adjacent property owners.
The foregoing resolution was. adopted by the Planning Commission at a r egular
meeting held on the 13th day of November, 1961, by the following vote:
