DAVIS KARL AND HA..·,~1n C. g:lOWELL Public hearing on application for zone variance of Davis Karl and Harry C. Crowell to waive requireme11t for doo:s.'s on all garages for the 28-unit apartmen~ house now being con¢ruct~d at 1803 Pacific Coast H:i.gh1;ray, the northerly one-half of Lot 16, Block 81, Second ~ddit:i.on to Hermosa Beach. Applica.'l.ts were present, Mr. • Karl speaking on behalf of th.air petition. A letter from Mr. Cecil Crow, 1850 PaCl.fic Coast Highway, favoring the variance, was read by Secretary Noble. It was established that these garages would be belm-,gradc and not visible from th1riglu,ray, and after discussion., Comm. Hales moved that the petition be granted, Conn:n. Public hearing on application for zone variance of Floyd A~ Hawks to permit redivision of Lots land 2, Block 5, Hermosa Terrace Tract, by adding 3.3' of Lot 2 to the northwest corner of Lot 1, said parcel measuring .3,3' in width on the west 'boundary, extending east 100! to zero width at the northeast corner of Lot 1. Mr. Hawks was present to explain bis reasons f-,r present1u.g; this petition to the Commission. Hales moved adoption of Resolution P. c. 154-35.5 granting this zone variance for the reasons that it will give the house o:a Lot 1 as describ~d on the plot plan an adequate side yard; give clear title to the fence 1m the north side of the parcel to the owners of Lot 1; and e~ven though this is technically a lot split within the meaning of the ordinance, there is such a minimal amount :lf land imrol ved as far a.s.ciqi, lot split .is co11ce:•11~d and not a lot split within the usual sense of the ~1n::,;-:d as it is u.nderirt;,od, it would be a hardship to the applicant not to grant this variance.
