RESOLUTION P.C. 91-60
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COIDtISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A REQUEST FOR AN EXCEPTION FROM
SECTION 13-7(B) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO ALLOW AN ADDITION TO
AN EXISTING NONCONFORMING STRUCTURE TO EXCEED 50% OF REPLACEMENT
VALUE AT 2010 MONTEREY AND LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOT 13, EXCEPT
SOUTHERLY 10 FEET, AND THE SOUTHERLY 19 FEET OF LOT 14 TRACT NO.
1868
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a hearing on October 1,
1991, regarding an application for an exception, pursuant to
section 13-7(B), to allow more than a 50% addition to a
nonconforming structure, and made the following findings:
A. The applicant is proposing an addition/remodel to an existing
duplex that results in an addition/remodel equivalent to 64%
of the replacement value of the existing structure;
B. The proposal does not meet the intent of Article 13-0.
General Goals, specifically subsection (d), as the front yard
setback of zero (O) is significantly out of conformance with
setback requirements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California does hereby deny a
request for an exception, pursuant to Section 13-7 (B) of the
zoning ordinance, to allow more than a 50% addition/remodel to
existing nonconforming structures.
