RESOLUTION P.C. 91-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, PRECISE
DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PARKING PLAN FOR AN AUTO BODY REPAIR AND
PAINTING ESTABLISHMENT AT 1081 -1087 AVIATION BOULEVARD LEGALLY
DESCRIBED AS LOTS 49 AND 50, AND THE SOUTHERLY 58 FEET OF LOTS 47
AND 48, HERMOSA HEIGHTS TRACT
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
February 19, and April 2, 1991, to receive oral and written
testimony regarding an application for a Conditional Use Permit,
Precise Development Plan, and Parking Plan at 1081
Aviation Boulevard and made the following findings:
1087
A. The applicant, European Body Shop is proposing to construct a
new building and parking lot for an auto body repair and
painting business;
B. The subject site is not large enough to allow for sufficient
storage of vehicles and adequate work areas, meaning that the
work activities and storage of wrecked vehicles will occur in
the outside areas which results in both a noise and visual
impact;
C. A saturation of auto body and painting shops already exists
in the vicinity, and the addition of another such business
will contribute to existing problems of noise, the emission
of paint fumes and undesirable odors, and congestion;
D. The proposed use is not compatible with surrounding
commercial and residential uses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California does hereby deny a
Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan, and Parking
Plan to allow for an auto body repair and painting establishment.
