Haggerty 2138 Hermosa Ave. apartment with nonconforming sideyards, and front setback May 8, 1967 RESOLUTION P.C. 154-612 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCAliD ON HERMOSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission under the provisions of Ordinance N.S. 154, application for zone variance by Donald K. Haggerty on that property owned by the applicant and located at 2138 Hermosa Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach did on May 8, 1967, conduct a duly advertised public hearing to consider this application to erect a 10 unit apartment building, with basement floor to be 7 ft. from the front property line, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor to be 2 ft. from the front property line; roofed over decks at 1st, 2nd and 3rd level to be located on front propertyyline in lieu of required JO ft. front set back. North side yard - building to be within 2 ft. of property line in lieu of required 5 ft. North garage wall at rear to extend to within one ft. from rear property line in lieu of re­ quired 3 ft., on that property described as follows: lot 5 and north 20 ft. of lot 4 Block 31, 1st, add. to Hermosa Beach tract NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in view of the findings at said hearing, the Planning Commission does hereby grant this zone variance because it is felt by the Planning Commission that the granting of this request will not be detrimental to the surrounding area or to the neighbors, and will not establish any unsavory precedents in the area, and also, that in this immediate area it will be no less conforming tha~ other buildings in the vicinity, and it seems to be an upgrading of the quality of apartment dwellings in keeping with the kind we are trying to achieve. The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of May, 1967, by the foflowing vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Comm, Armer, Noble, Boice, Hamilton, Chairman Viault Comm.
