RESOLUTION NO. P.C. 154-613
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL CERTAIN ACTION REGARDING AN APPLICATION
FOR ZONE VARIANCE AFFECTING PROPERTY LOCATED ON BARD STREET IN THE CITY
OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on April 10, 1967, at a duly advertised
hearing, adopt Resolution No. P.C. 154-609, denying the application for zone
variance of Bruce and Pauline Gobel to allow continued use of three duplexes in
1 ieu of three single family residences, (single residences originally constructed
October 1953 and converted to duplexes after final building inspection, without
proper garage facilities, or proper floor area for converted units, and without
building permits), on that property described as follows:
838, 844 and 846 Bard Street Lots 2,3 and 4 Block S, Tract 2002; and
WHEREAS, consideration of alternate proposal by the applicant relative to this
application, has been requested by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, said alternate proposal was presented by the applicants, Bruce and
Pauline Gobel, at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission on May 8, 1967;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in view of the findings during review of
this action, it is the recommendation of the Planning Commission that the
applicants be granted this variance; specifically, one hnitJingone bhdg.4fu~ving 426
sq. ft. of floor area in lieu of the required 500 sq. ft., and that off
street parking be provided according to the Parking Ordinance. It will also
be necessary that the properties will be tied together by a covenant filed with
the County Recorder to run with the land. An abatement period of no more than
one year from the date of grabtigg of this variance will be allowed for these
-provisions to be met, and the present use of these duplexes may be continued
for the du~ation of the abatement period.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regular
meeting held on May 8, 1967, by the following vote:
