A RESOLUTION OF THE Pl.ANNING COMM ISSI ON OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH ,
CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY
LOC ATED ON HERMOSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CA LIFORNIA .
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEAC H DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, there was fi led wi th t his Commission, unde r t he provisions of Ordinance
N.S. 154 , application for conditional use pe rmi t by Joe and Jimmy Provencio,
upon proper t y owned by the app lic an t and loc ate d at 1314-1316 Her mo sa Avenue; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Commissi on of the City of Hermo sa Bea c h did on January
8, 1968, conduct duly a dvertised public h~ar ing to consider this application
to serve beer nand wine In conjunction wit h a bona f i de rest a uran t , on that
property described as follows:
Lots 8 and 9, Block 34, First addition t o Hermosa Beach t ract
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in view of the find i ngs at said he arin g,
t he Planning Commi ss ion gr ants this Conditiona l Use Pe rmit wit h the provision s
that th e proposed wa ll to be er e cted as a bar divider between th e dining room
a nd t he bar, should not e x ceed 50% o f t he a rea across t he northerly and southerly
direction of t he room, and that 50"/o of the entir e area of this wall is to be an
open screen wall. Further provision to be that t he bar be r e stricted to 40% of
t he floor area of t he northern building, and to be located i n the eastern por ti on
of said building, and that it be limited to no more than ten (10) bar s t ools;
and wi t h the st ipulation th at it will be permitted only as long a s the operation of
this busi nes s is pr imaril y that of a bona f i de restaurant.
The granting of thi s Conditional Use Permi t is made on the basis that the
s ervi ng of beer and wi ne in conjunction with Mexican food is deemed to be neces sary
and wi 11 no t be mate rially detrimental to the public welfar e , nor does ft adversely
affect the Comp reh en sive General Plan.
The fo rego in g resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission a t their regular
meet ing held on January 8, 1968, by t he following vote:
