P.C. 154-641 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL CERTAIN ACTION REGARDING PROPERTY LOCATED ON HERMOSA AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA THE P~ANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on January 8 1 1968, at a duly advertised public hearing, adopt Resolution P.C. 154-635 granting a conditional use permit with certain stipulations, to Joe Provencio, dba 11 Joe Cisco11 , on that property described as follows: lots 8 and 9, block 34, 1st addition to Hermosa Beach tract; and WHEREAS, the City Counci 1 did appeal this conditional use permit,at a public hearing on February 6, 1968, which would have permitted the applicant to serve beer and wine in conjunction with his restaurant, with the provisions that a· proposed wall to be erected as a bar divider between the dining room and the bar should not exeed 50% of the area across the northerly and southerly direction of the room, and that 50% of the entire area of this wall is to be an open screen wall, and that the bar be restricted to 40"/o of the floor area of the northern bui ]ding, and to be located in the ea~tern portion of the building, and limited to no more than ten bar stools; operation to be permitted only as long as business is primarily that of a bona fide restaurant; and WHEREASi the City Council has returned this application to the Planning Commission with the recommendation that it be restudied on the basis that the bar and beer stools be removed and wine and beer served only at the tables; and WHEREAS, restudy has been made by the Planning Commission at their meeting of February 13, 1968; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that after review of this action, it is the recommendation of the Planning Commission that prior resolution P.C. 154-635 be amended, and the conditioraluse permit be granted on the basis that the bar and stools are removed and beer and wine served only at the tables; and that there will be no separate room as outlined in the original resolution P.C. 154-635; and that the dispensing of beer and wine wi 11 be only a supplement to the serving of food; for the reason it is felt that after re-consideration at prior meetings of the City Council, and review at this Planning Commission meeting, that this is a very suitable solution to the original proposal and the elimination of the bar and stools would guarantee that the dispensing of these beverages of beer and wine would be solely as a supplement to the serving of food and the operation will be maintained primarily as a bona fide restaurant.
