A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF HERMOSA BEACH TO INITIATE ACTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERATION
OF AMENDING ZONING ORDLNANCE N.S. 154 BY AMENDING SECTION 1153 OF
ARTICLE 11 .5 RELATING TO OFFSTREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR INDUSTRIAL,
MANUFACTURING AND WAREHOUSE USE.
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, there have been numerous requests for variance to allow tandem parking
in the manufacturing zone; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that most of the parking is of a startic nature;
and
WHEREAS, the present parking requirements, without tandem parking, have been
creating a hardshi~ 6n the property owner in the development of the manufacturing
zone; and
WHEREAS, in view of the findings during said review, it is the op1n1on of the
Planning Commission that amendment of Article 11.5, Section 1153 of said
Zoning Ordinance is in order to-wit:
SECTION 1153 -Add to said Section:
11 0ne-half of the required parking spaces may be tandem. Tandem parking spaces
access may be from a street, alley or private driveway.11
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, under the provisions of Ordinance N.S. 154,
Section 1501, the Planning Commission initiate action to conduct a public hearing
at the regular meeting of June 3, 1968, at 7:30 p.m., at the official meeting
place, for the purpose of consideration of amendment as set forth herein.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission at a regular
meeting held on the 6th day of May, 1968, by the following vote:
