A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE N.S 0 154
BY AMENDING SECTION 1153 OF ART ICLE 11.5 RELATING TO OFFSTREET PARKING
REQUIREMENTS FOR INDUSTRI AL, MANUFACTURING AND WAREHOUSE USE.
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEAC H does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, und er the provisions o f Ordinance N.S. 154, Section 1501, the Planning
Commission did, on May 6, 1968, adopt Re so lutio n of Int e ntion P.C. 154-659 to
Initiate action for th e purpo se of co nsid e ra t ion of amend i ng Zoning Ordinance
N.S. 154, to provide more flexible controls of parking requirements in the
manufactur i ng zone; a nd
WHERE AS, on June 3, 1968, publi c hearing was h e ld, and t he Plannin g Commission
af ter st udy and analy s is , did det ermine that th e p roposed amendme nt was ne cessa ry
to all ev iate some of the hardships on the proper t y owners in the developmen t of
the manufacturing zone; and
WHEREAS, it was fur t her determined that allowing t andem parking within said
zone would make th e development of the manufac tu ring zone more feasible, and
it would not be detrimental to said manu fact uring areas,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in view of the f indings at sa id hea ring,
the P l anning Commissio n recommend to the City Council of the City of Her mo sa
Beach, amendme nt of ordinance N.S. 154 , as follows:
That Ar ticle 11 .5 , Section 1153-Of f str eet parking, industr i al, manufact ur ing
and warehouse use be and the same amended by adding thereto the following:
Section 1153 -add to said section: "One half of the req uired parking sp aces
may be tandem. Tandem park ing spaces access may be from a st reet , a l ley or
private driveway .11
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commi ssion at a regular
meeti ng held on t he 3rd day o f June 1968, by the following vot e:
