HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Resolution 86-35RESOLUTION P.C. 86-35 1 11 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA 2 BEACH RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA THAT A MORATORIUM BE ENACTED TO PREVENT THE 3l l uNMERGING OF SUBSTANDARD, CONTIGUOUS LOTS HELD BY THE SAME OWNER II WHEN SUCH LOTS HAVE A RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE BUILT OVER THE LOT 4 LINE. 5 6 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission is in the process of amend- 7 11 ing the Zoning Code as it pertains to combined lots to bring the 8 ,,code in conformance with AB894; and 9 WHEREAS, there is a current and immediate threat to the 10 public health, safety or welfare in the form of proposed develop- 11 ment of substandard lots due to the cumulative effect of in- 12 creased density, traffic congestion, and reduction of available 13 street parking and the approval of such developments and issuance 14 of building permits therefore would result in a threat to public 15 peace, health, safety or welfare; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission 17 of the City of Hermosa Beach does hereby recommend to the City 18 Council of Hermosa Beach a moratorium on future development on 19 lots which contain all of the following conditions: 20 1. Contiguous lots. 21 2. Owned by same owner. 22 3. Unmerger would result in lots less than 40' wide and less 23 24 11 4. 25 26 11 5. 27 than 4,000 square feet. Currently developed with residential structure (s) over lot line.
