RESOLUTION P.C. 87-32
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AMENDMENT
FOR A NEW AND USED AUTOMOBILE SALES AT 840 PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY,
KNOWN AS CASEY'S ISUZU.
WHEREAS the Planning Commission held a public hearing on May
19, 1987 on this matter and made the following Findings:
A. The Planning Commission approved Resolution P.C. 87-2 on
February 17, 1987 to allow new and used automobile sales at
840 Pacific Coast Highway, known as Casey's Isuzu;
B. The existing Resolution P.C. 87-2 requires fifteen (15)
on-site parking spaces;
C. The applicant has proposed to amend the Conditional Use
D.
Permit, Resolution P.C. 87-2, through a Parking Plan;
The Planning Commission has determined a need for more
parking for the business;
E. Resolution P.C. 87-30 which will provide five (5) on-site
parking spaces and rent the remaining required fifteen (15)
spaces from adjacent businesses within a 200 foot radius;
F. The imposition of conditions shall mitigate any significant
impacts associated with this proposed use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California does hereby amend
the Conditional Use Permit for new and used automobile sales
at 840 Pacific Coast Highway, Casey's Isuzu, subject to the
following conditions.
1. Applicant shall conform to all the conditions approved in
Resolution P.C. 87-30, Parking Plan.
2. The public right-of-way shall not be used for the parking or
storing of vehicles that are intended for sale, repair, or
service.
3. Test driving of vehicles on local residential streets shal be
prohibited.

a. A sign shall be posted in a conspicuous location stating
that "VEHICLES SHALL NOT BE TEST-DRIVEN ON RESIDENTIAL
STREETS".
4. Outdoor work activity shall be prohibited.
5. All signs shall be approved by the Department of Building and
Safety prior to installation.
6. All exterior lights shall be located in a manner to insure
that neighboring residential units shall not be be adversely
affected.
7 . Exterior phone bells, buzzers, public address systems or
similar devices which are audible to adjacent neighbors shall
be prohibited.
8. Three sets of final plans in conformance with the conditions
of approval shall be submitted to the Planning Department for
approval prior to this Conditional Use Permit becoming
effective.
9 . Where applicable, conditions of approval shall be met before
this Conditional Use Permit becomes effective.
10. There shal 1 be a six month review of compliance with the
conditions of approval (November 17, 1987).
11. All employees shall be made aware of the conditions stated in
this Conditional Use Permit, and an "Acceptance of
Conditions" form shal 1 be be signed by the applicant and
submitted to the Planning Department prior to this
Conditional Use Permit becoming effective.
12. This Resolution P.C. 87-32, amending the Conditional Use
Permit for 840 Pacific Coast Highway, Casey's Isuzu, shall
replace Resolution P.C. 87-2.
