RESOLUTION P.C. 88-46
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSIONOF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A TEXT AMENDMENT TO
THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO ADD "ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, GRADES K-8,
C.U.P. REQUIRED" TO THE R-1 ZONE, SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE,
AND APPROVING AN ENVIRONMENTAL NEGATIVE DECLARATION.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
June 7, 1988 to receive oral and written testimony on this matter
and made the following Findings:
A. School are currently allowed in the Open Space zones.
B. The school district has available land zoned R-1 which cannot
currently be used for schools.
C. Schools provide recreational space for adjacent residential
uses.
D. Elementary schools may not have a detrimental effect in
residential zones when appropriate conditions of approval are
imposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the City of Hermosa Beach, California, does hereby recommend that
the City Council make that following text amendment to the zoning
ordinance and approve an Environmental Negative Declaration.
SECTION 1: Amend the R-1, Single-Family Residential Zone
permitted use list, Article 4, Section 4-2, to
include the fol lowing in alphabetical order the
following:
