1 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A VARIANCE AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
2 TO ALLOW OFF-SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT 1325 HERMOSA AVENUE,
LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOTS 16, 17 AND 18, BLOCK 14, HERMOSA BEACH
3 TRACT.
4 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
5 July 19, 1988 to receive oral and written testimony and made the
6 following Findings:
7 A. The applicant is proposing to sell beer and wine at a retail
8 convenience store;
9 B. The site is located in a C-2 zone and is surrounded by C-2
10 zoned properties;
11 C. The zoning code prohibits new off sale liquor establishments
12 within 100 feet of any residential use and/or zone;
13 D. Field surveys and building records indicate there are several
14 residential uses within the 100 feet radius;
15 E. There are no unusual features of size, shape or topography

which justify granting a variance for this property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, does hereby deny a
variance and Conditional Use Permit to allow the off-sale of beer
and wine at 1325 Hermosa Avenue.
