1 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A VARIANCE TO THE PARKING STANDARDS
2 IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXPANSION OF THE SEATING CAPACITY OF
MARTHA'S RESTAURANT AT 23 -25 TWENTY-SECOND STREET AND ADOPTING
3 AN ENVIRONMENTAL NEGATIVE DECLARATION.
4 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
5 September 6, 1988 and made the following Findings:
6 A. The restaurant is unique because of its proximity to The

Strand, resulting in a high amount of bicycle and foot
traffic customers;
9 B. The business is being denied the right other businesses

located near The Strand have to cater to walking and
bicycling strand patrons;
12 C. The neighboring residents patronize the business which is
13 consistent with the General Plan definition of neighborhood
14 commercial uses;
15 D. The imposition of conditions via the required Conditional Use

Permit wi 11 1 imi t any impact to the heal th, safety, and
welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
19 of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, does hereby approve a
zone variance to the parking standards in conjunction with the
20 expansion of the seating capacity of Martha's Restaurant at 23-25
Twenty-second Street and an Environmental Negative Declaration.
