RESOLUTION P.C. 89-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A SIGN WAIVER FOR HERMOSA VALLEY
SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a hearing on May 16,
1989, and made the following Findings:
A. The sign may experience vandalism at a monument level height;
B. A sign, thirteen feet in total height, will not be obtrusive
to the surrounding neighborhood;
C. Section 9.5 of the zoning ordinance allows for sign waivers
in the Open Space zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, approves a double face
pole sign/reader board, thirteen (13) feet high with a thirty-two
(32) square foot face located as shown on the attached map, and
subject to the following conditions:
1. An attractive pole cover shall be provided.
2. The sign maybe illuminated until 9:00 p.m. daily with the
exception of special functions, e.g. carnival night.
3. The message board shall be limited to advertising school
events and other community activities; at no time shall
commercial activities, products, or services be displayed, or
advertised.
