A RESOLUTION OF THE HERMOSA IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION GRANTING
A VARIANCE FOR A FOURTH CAN ON A POLE SIGN AT 1100 PACIFIC
COAST HIGHWAY
WHEREAS, the Hermosa Improvement Commission at their September 19, 1978
meeting,_considered the request for a fourth can (two-sided) on a pole
sign (currently having three cans) at 1100 Pacific Coas.t Highway, and
WHEREAS, the Commission voted that a variance was necessary in that the
Sign Ordinance permits a maximum of three cans on one pole, and
WHEREAS, the Commission received testimony from the owner of the subject
property, expressing the need of his tenants for identification along
Pacific Ceast Highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hermosa Improvement Commission
grants a variance, permitting a fourth can on the pole sign at 1100
Pacific Coast Highway, because a majority of the businesses in that area
do have signing along Pacific Coast Highway, that there has been an
expressed hardship, without signings along Pacific Coast Highway, on
·tenant~ of the shopping center and that the granting of the variance would
not adversely affect public safety.
