Note: No Smoking is allowed in the Council Chambers Section I 1. Pledge of Allegiance 2. Roll Call 3. Approval of August 2, 1988 Minutes. 4. Approval of (a) Resolution P.C. 88-64 approving a Conditional Use Permit & Tentative Parcel Map #19867 for a 4 unit condominium at 840- 844 Loma Drive. (b) Resolution P.C. 88-66 approving a Conditional Use Permit & Tentative Parcel Map #19868 for a 2 unit condominium at 858 Loma Drive. (c) Resolution P.C. 88-67 approving a Conditional Use Permit & Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #19820 for a 3 unit condo at 621 9th Street. (d) Resolution P.C. 88-68 recommending approval of a text amend­ ment to zoning ordinance regarding height of hedges and fen­ ces & adoption of Environmental Negative Declaration. (e) Resolution P.C. 88-73 denying the appeal and upholding the Building Official's interpretation of Section 306 at 2930 The Strand. Section II Communications 5. Anyone wishing to address the Commission regarding a matter not related to a public hearing on the agenda may do so at this time. Section III Public Bearings 6. Conditional Use Permit & Vesting Tentative Parcel Map #19844 for a 2 unit condominium project at 238 Ardmore Avenue, aka 602 3rd Street. Recommended Action: To approve the Conditional Use Permit & Vesting Tentative Parcel Map. 7. Rezone of area 3 from R-2 to R-1 or to such other zone as deemed appropriate by Planning Commission & adopt an Environmental Negative Declaration. Recommended Action: To recommend approval of rezoning to R-2B & adopt the Environmental Negative Declaration. -1 - 8. Parking plan & adoption of an Environmental Negative Declaration at 832 Hermosa Avenue. Recommended Action: To approve said parking plan & adopt the ~~ Environmental Negative Declaration. 9. Amendment to Conditional Use Permit to relocate open dining area & parking spaces, and to add a small office at 1100 The Strand, Scotty's. Recommended Action: To approve the amendment to existing Condi­ tional Use Permit. 10. Variance to allow balconies to encroach into the required front yard setback area & adoption of an Environmental Negative Decla­ ration at 2000 The Strand (continued from 11/17/1987 meeting). Recommended Action: To deny the variance. Section IV Hearings 11. Auto broker in C-2 zone (continued from 8/2/1988 meeting). Recommended Action: To set for public hearing when available. Section V 12. Staff Items a. Memorandum regarding City Council/Planning Commission workshop. b. Letter from Mr. Michael P. Lawton and response from Building Director. c. Memorandum regarding Planning Commission liaison for 8/23/ 1988 City Council meeting. d. Tentative future Planning Commission agenda items. e. City Council minutes of July 21, 26, 28 and 30, 1988. 13. Commissioner Items a. Resolution of intent -General Plan & rezone of the west side of Myrtle Avenue. 14. Adjournment -2 -
