A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW AN
AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ALLOWING OUTDOOR
DINING AND THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE AT 200 LONGFELLOW AVENUE,
LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOT 2, BLOCK 117, SHAKESPEARE TRACT.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
February 19, 1991 to receive oral and written testimony regarding
the subject matter and made the following Findings:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, does hereby approve a
Conditional Use Permit to allow amendment to the existing C.U.P.
allowing outdoor dining and the sale of beer and wine in
conjunction with a restaurant at 200 Longfellow Avenue subject to
the following conditions:
1. The service of alcoholic beverages shal 1 be in an
establishment that operates a full kitchen and provides full
menus. The primary purpose of the establishment shall be the
service of food. A restaurant is defined as having gross
sales of a minimum of 65% food and a maximum of 35% beer or
wine sales . computed monthly. Upon request the City may
request to review all records submitted to the State Board of
Equalization and verify the applicant's books and records.
It is understood that the review of these records is
confidential.
2. The hours of operation shall be limited to 9:30 A.M. to 10:00
P .M. Sunday through Thursday, and 9: 30 A.M. to 11: 30 P .M. on
Fridays and Saturdays. No consumption of alcohol or serving
of food shall be allowed on the patio area except between the

hours of 9:30 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. during daylight savings time
and 9:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. during Pacific Standard Time.
a. At any time noise that violates the City's noise ordinance
is generated by the subject restaurant, it shall be cause
to limit the hours of operations to 9:30 A.M. -4:00 P.M.

b. The City's noise monitoring meter calibrated for accuracy
shall be considered adequate by the applicant to determine
noise levels when used by a trained City employee(s).
3. The existing wooden fence enclosing the patio shall be
repaired and maintained in an attractive condition.
4. The adjacent garage shall be used for vehicle parking only,
and the partition shal 1 be removed. No use or storage of
noxious substances shall be permitted inside said garage.
5. The Sign Ordinance shall be strictly enforced.

applicant shall submit to the planning department, a signed
and notarized "Acceptance of Conditions" form.

13. The Planning Commission may review the conditional use permit
and may amend the subject conditions or impose any new
conditions if deemed necessary to mitigate detrimental
effects on the neighborhood resulting from the subject use.
