HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES-12-6817 (CITY CLERK COMPENSATION)RESOLUTION NO.12-6817 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION TO BE RECEIVED BY THE CITY CLERK a 5 6 7 s 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 WHEREAS, the City Council, on March 13, 2012, adopted Resolution No. 12-6790 approving a temporary salary adjustment (from April 1, 2012, until the appointment of a new Deputy City Clerk) to compensate the City Clerk for the significant increase in the workload and duties resulting from the previous Deputy City Clerk's retirement on March 29, 2012; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk's performance of the Deputy City Clerk's duties did not end when the position was filled on June 20, 2012, but extended throughout the extensive training and transition period, during which the City Clerk continued to maintain the same level of service and ensure an uninterrupted workflow. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 2.72.050 of the City of Hermosa Beach Municipal Code, the compensation of the City Clerk shall be fixed by resolution of the City Council. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall receive the previously -approved additional monthly salary (equal to the City Clerk's regular monthly salary, payable semi-monthly at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries paid to each of the officers and employees of the City) during the Deputy City Clerk's basic training and transition period ending August 31, 2012. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 2012.
