HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 13-6857 (CITY TREASURER COMPENSATION)1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 13-6857 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE RECEIVED BY THE CITY TREASURER, PROVIDING A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SUCH COMPENSATION, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.90-5378 WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed, and desires to modify, the compensation for the City Treasurer; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to update the duties of the City Treasurer to reflect current practice and to clarify organizational issues pertaining to staffing of the Treasurer's office. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 79-621 of the City of Hermosa Beach, adopted July 24, 1979, the compensation of the City Treasurer shall be fixed by a Resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach. SECTION 2. Effective July 1, 2013, the City Treasurer shall receive a salary at the same level as the City Council, which is $6,360 annually ($530 per month). SECTION 3. The rate of compensation set forth in Section 2 of this Resolution shall be in full force and effect beginning July 1, 2013, and shall remain in full force until such time as this Resolution is amended or repealed. SECTION 4. The City Treasurer shall be eligible for the same insurance as the City Council and the same retirement benefits as other Miscellaneous employees, as defined by the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). SECTION 5. Consistent with the provisions of the California Government Code, the duties of the City Treasurer shall consist of administration of the City's investment portfolio, Page 1 of 2 13-6857 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 23 24 25 26 27 28 including investment of bond proceeds, in compliance with the City's investment policy adopted annually by the City Council and subject to the oversight and protocols established in City Council Resolution No. 13-6846. SECTION 6. This Resolution rescinds and supersedes City Council Resolution No. 90- 5378, adopted June 26, 1990. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said city; and shall make minutes of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council at which the same is passed and adopted.
