ANNOUNCEMENTS - UPCOMING CITY EVENTS Mayor Pro Tem Massey made an announcement about the recent algae bloom along the coast and the effects the algae bloom has on surrounding marine life. Mayor Jackson invited the community to participate in the Mayor's Conversation and Community Beautification event on Sunday, July 23 at 9:00 am at the Community Theater. Mayor Jackson announced that the meeting will be adjourned in memory of Rich Connell. VI. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Councilmember Francois requested to move Municipal Matter Item "a" to the beginning of the agenda. There was no support for this request. Mayor Jackson provided a brief summary about the Tri-Agency Partnership meeting on June 28, 2023. XI. Page 8City of Hermosa Beach Printed on 7/25/2023 July 11, 2023City Council Meeting Minutes - Final A motion was made by Councilmember Francois, seconded by Councilmember Detoy to waive the full second reading and adopt by title only an ordinance of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, adopting by reference Title 32, Fire Code, of the Los Angeles County Code, incorporating the California Fire Code, 2022 edition, with certain changes and amendments; making amendments to said codes; amending Title 15 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code; and finding the action exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act; and direct the City Clerk to staff to print and publish the summary ordinance in a newspaper of general circulation within 15 days following adoption and post it on the City's bulletin for 30 days. All members of the Council were present. The City Council continued to deliberate on this item. A consensus was reached to invite realtors and other community members to share qualifying properties with City staff for additional review. The Public Hearing originally scheduled for July 25, 2023 will be continued to August 8, 2023 to provide time for this additional review.
