Pledge of Allegiance 2. Roll Call Present: Commissioners Allen, Perrotti, Pizer and Chairman Hoffman Absent: Commissioner Darcy Also Present: Community Development Director Ken Robertson Senior Planner Pamela Townsend Assistant City Attorney Lauren Feldman Assistant Planner Eva Choi 3. Oral /Written Communication - Anyone wishing to address the Commission regarding a matter not related to a public hearing on the agenda may do so at this time. Section I Consent Calendar 4. Approval of the November 17, 2009 action minutes. ACTION: To approve the above minutes as presented. Motion by Commissioner Perrotti, seconded by Commissioner Pizer. The motion carried by a unanimous vote, noting the absence of Commissioner Darcy. 5. Resolution(s) for approval a. Resolution P.C. 10-1 denying a Conditional Use Permit amendment for a live entertainment and/or music academy with on-sale beer and wine, with limited food service and catered events, in the Hermosa Pavilion at 1601 Pacific Coast Highway #285, Flying Stone Jazz and Blues Club.. ACTION: To approve the above Resolution P.C. 10-1 as presented. Motion by Commissioner Pizer, seconded by Commissioner Perrotti. The motion carried as follows: AYES: Allen, Hoffman, Perrotti, Pizer NOES: None ABSENT: Darcy ABSTAIN: None Planning Commission Action Minutes January 19, 2010 1 Section II Public Hearing(s) 6. CON 10-1 / PDP 10-1 -- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 71193 for a two-unit residential condominium at 171 and 173 Lyndon Street. Staff Recommended Action: To adopt the resolution approving subject Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map for a two-unit residential condominium. ACTION: To approve subject Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 71193 for a two-unit residential condominium and adopt the resolution as presented. MOTION by Commissioner Perrotti, seconded by Commissioner Allen. The motion carried as follows: AYES: Allen, Hoffman, Perrotti, Pizer NOES: None ABSENT: Darcy ABSTAIN: None Section III Hearing(s) 7. CON 10-2 / PDP 10-2 -- Request for a one-year extension for a Conditional Use Permit and Precise Development Plan for a 4-unit mixed use condominium project at 131, 133 and 135 Hermosa Avenue. Staff Recommended Action: To adopt a Minute Order extending the expiration date of the Conditional Use Permit and Precise Development Plan by one year to December 16, 2010. ACTION: To approve, by minute order, the extension of the Conditional Use Permit and Precise Development Plan by one year to December 16, 2010. MOTION by Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Pizer. The motion carried as follows: AYES: Allen, Hoffman, Perrotti, Pizer NOES: None ABSENT: Darcy ABSTAIN: None 8. A-14 -- Appeal of Director’s Decision for a convex slope determination for the purpose of measuring building height at 1309 Loma Drive. Staff Recommended Action: By Minute Order, determine the property to be a convex sloping lot and interpolate height using intermediate points on the top of the slope as proposed by the applicant.
