HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC_Resolution_91-69 3104 Ingleside2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION P.C. 91-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, TO APPROVE AV ARIANCE REQUEST TO ALLOW A REMODEL AND SECOND STORY ADDIDON THAT RESULTS IN A TWO -CAR GARAGE WI1H A SETBACK OF THREE AND A HALF (3.5) FEET RATHER THAN THE REQUIRED SEVENTEEN (17) FEET AND REDUCES THE GROUND LEVEL OPEN SPACE TO LESS THAN THE REQUIRED TWO HUNDRED (200) SQUARE FEET AND AN ENVIRONMENTAL NEGATIVE DECLARATION AT 3104 INGLESIDE DRIVE, LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOT 1, BLOCK 140, SHAKESPEARE TRACT WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on December 3, 1991 to receive oral and written testimony regarding a requested variance at 3104 Ingleside Drive and made the following findings: A. B. C. D. E. The applicant is requesting a variance to allow a remodel and second story addition that results in a two-car garage with a setback of 3.5 feet rather than the required 17 feet and reduces the ground level open space to less than the required 200 square feet; Circumstances related to the existing physical condition of the property, the narrow 1 0' wide alley, and the obstruction caused by the power pole restricts the applicant's ability to provide required parking, and therefore to conduct a reasonable remodel and addition; The property owner is denied a property right possessed by other properties in the vicinity which do not have these existing conditions; Granting the variance would not have a detrimental effect on public welfare; Granting the variance is not inconsistent with the General Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach , California, does hereby approve the requested variance at 3104 Ingleside Drive. VOTE: A YES: Comms.Merl,Suard,Chmn.Ketz NOES: Comms.Di Monda,Marks ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None CERTIFICATION I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution P.C. 91-69 is a true and complete record of the action taken by the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach, California, at the· eg fu" meeting of December 3, 1991. ~...---1 , C c"'~k<'.=5, Christine Ketz, Chairperson mac/3104 pcrs 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION P.C. 91-68 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A MASTER CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AMENDMENT FOR PAINTING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OPERATION OF AN EXISTING AUTO BODY REPAIR BUSINESS, "EUROPEAN AUTO BODY", AND THE ADDITION OF A SPRAY BOOTH AT 501-555 PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS THE EASTERLY 140 FEET OF LOT 24, AND LOT 25, BLOCK 78, SECOND ADDITION TO HERMOSA BEACH WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 7, 1991 to receive oral and written testimony regarding an application for a Master Conditional Use Permit Amendment at 501-555 Pacific Coast Highway and made the following findings: A. The applicant, European Auto Body is proposing to intensify the use of its current auto body shop and construct a paint booth on a site shared by other pre-existing businesses; B. The subject site is not large enough to allow for sufficient storage of vehicles and adequate work areas, meaning that the work activities and storage of wrecked vehicles may occur in the outside areas which results in both a noise and visual impact; C.
