211 A POLICY STATEMENT OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HER-
MOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, PERMITTING STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS IN THE
311 SETBACK REQUIRED BY SECTION 115 7 (C) OFFSTREET PARKING, RESIDEN-
TIAL USES.

5 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered this matter on
6 July 15, 1986, and made the following Findings:
7'I 1. Section 115 7 (C) of the Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum

17-foot setback where garages or parking stalls front on a
public street;
Section 1157(C) further permits the second floor of a dwell-
ing unit to project over a driveway to within the setback
required by the Zoning Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission of the City of Hermo-
14 sa Beach makes the following Statement of Policy regarding Sec-
15 tion 1157(C) of the Zoning Ordinance:

required by Section 1157(C) of the Zoning Ordinance, but not
within the setback required by the zone within which a
development is proposed or exists.
Supports shall not interfere with or obstruct required park-
ing spaces or turning area.
Walls that are clearly architectural treatment may be permit-
ted in the setback required by the Parking Ordinance when it
is determined by the Planning Director that the intent and
purpose of the Ordinance is being met.
