RESOLUTION BZA 154-549
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS OF THE CITY OF
HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A VARIANCE ON PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 20l -16TH STREET.
WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of
Hermosa Beach, California, at a public hearing held on February 6,
1984, in the Council Chambers of the City, considered the request
of Mr. Peter Toogood for permission to add over 40% (second story)
to an existing single family residence with nonconforming yards
and open space, also to perform said addition without providing
at least one legal off-street parking space on property legally
described as a Portion of Lot 1, Block 50, First Addition to
Hermosa Beach;
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the applicant's representa
tive stated that the second story addition has been designed so as
not to obstruct anyone's view. The proposed project would also
be increasing the outdoor recreational space;
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, no one appeared to speak
in opposition to the variance;
WHEREAS, after due consideration, it is the opinion of the
Board of Zoning Adjustments that the variance request is denied
for the following reason:
1. That there is a critical, serious lack of parking in the
subject area and granting the variance would be adding to a
critical parking situation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESIDLVED that in view of the above
finding of fact, the Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of
Hermosa Beach, California, does hereby deny the variance by the
following vote:

CERTIFICATION
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution BZA 154-549 was
adopted by the Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of
Hermosa Beach, California, at a regular meeting held on the
6th day of February, 1984.
