RESOLUTION B.Z.A. 154-434 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR CUSTOMER DANCING ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 30 PIER AVENUE, HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of Hermosa Beach, at a public hearing held on October 5, 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, considered the request of Mr. Paul E. Hennessey for customer dancing in conjunction with the operation of a bar at 30 Pier Avenue, legally described as Lot 7, Block 12, Hermosa Beach Tract; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the Board reviewed the data submitted by the applicant and city staff; and WHEREAS, the ~roposed conditional use permit is not in conflict with the areas zoning or general plan designation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Zonin~ Adjustments of Hermosa Beach does hereby approve a conditional use permit for customer dancing in conjunction with the operation of a bar at 30 Pier Avenue, subject to the following condition: 1) If, in the judgment of the chief of police or chief of the fire department, the public welfare and safety require the continuous attendance at any of the places of business or activities referred to in this chapter during the time the same are being carried on, they may require the appointment of special police officers or firemen for the purpose of preserving order and the enforcement of any and all police and fire regulations pertinent to such operations; provided, however, that the presence of such special police officers or firemen shall not relieve that management or any of its employees from responsibility for any violation of law or city ordinance. The compensation of the special officers or firemen provided for herein shall be paid for by the management; provided, that such compensation shall not exceed the normal compensation paid to such police and firemen for similar work in the city.
