Executive Summary: At its June 5,2023 special meeting,City Council conducted interviews for two upcoming Parks, Recreation and Community Resources Commission vacancies for the terms ending June 30,2027. Council interviewed six applicants:Barbara Ellman (Attachment 1);Joey Farrales (Attachment 2); Traci Horowitz (Attachment 3);James Lenihan (Attachment 4);Brad McDonald (Attachment 5), and Isabel Rodriguez (Attachment 6).Staff recommends City Council appoint two members to the Parks, Recreation and Community Resources Commission for the terms ending June 30, 2027. Background: In accordance with Hermosa Beach Municipal Code Chapter 2.28,the Parks,Recreation,and Community Resources Advisory Commission shall consist of five members who are bona fide residents of the City and appointed by the City Council for four-year terms. Strive to utilize a consensus-oriented decision-making process. ·1.7 Diversity of representation.Strive to reflect a comprehensive cross-section of the community in appointments to Commission and Advisory Committees.
