A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF HERMOSA
BEACH APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE RE-
MODELLING AND EXPANSION OF DER WIENERSCHNITZEL AT 1101
PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at a public hearing
held March 12, 1973, considered the request of Der Wienerschnitzer, Inc. for a
conditional use permit to enlarge and redesign existing take out restaurant on
lots 1-4, block 1, Tract 6851, known as 1101 Pacific Coast Highway; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the Commission received testimony that the
proposed addition was for a sit-down restaurant and complete renovation; that the
project was a prototype, which if successful would be initiated in other locations;
that extensive landscaping would be provided; and
WHEREAS, exterior colors are to be changed, a free-standing sign to be erected,
design of which is not yet available; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Planning Commission the present operation has
been well conducted and of benefit to the City; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Planning Commission, the Environmental hnpact
is not significant, and therefore a Statement Of No Significant Environmental Effects
is hereby approved; and
WHEREAS, the Commission feels that subject to certain conditions, the proposed
project will be of benefit to the City and will not be detrimental to the surrounding
neighborhood;
NOWTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of Hermosa
Beach hereby grants the conditional use· permit as requested, subject to the following
conditions:
1. All wiring to be undergrounded from pole nearest westerly property line;
2. Power pol~ at drive-in exit to be removed;
3. Detailed landscaping plan shall be submitted for review and approval of the City
Planner;
4. Building color and new signs to be submitted to Hermosa Improvement Commis-
sion for approval prior to issuance of a building permit;
5. Hours of operation to be between 10 a. m. and 1 a. m.
