C. 154-879 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF HERMOSA BEACH DENYING A REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO SERVE LIQUOR AT 2626 HERMOSA A VENUE. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at a public hearing held March 26, 1973, considered the request of Patrick McCauley dba "Critters" for a conditional use permit to serve cocktails in a bona fide eating place (presently serving beer and wine) on lots 4 and 5, block 67, 1st Addition to Hermosa Beach Tract known as 2626 Hermosa Avenue; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, it was noted that no permanent off-street parking is available, and parking available to previous non-conforming uses is no longer available; and WHEREAS, the proposed use is immediately adjacent to residential uses, where on- street parking is minimal; and WHEREAS, previous liquor establishments at the subject location have created police problems, and the Chief of Police is of the opinion that the requested license, if granted, would create additional police problems; and WHEREAS, the Commission has consistently denied such requests where adjacent to residences and without adequate off-street parking; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach hereby denies the subject request because: 1. No permanently available off-street parking is provided; 2. The subject property is immediately adjacent to residential uses; 3. The sale of liquor would create an imposition on residences in the area; 4. Approval of the request as submitted would be contrary to previous actions on similar requests; 5. Approval of the request could add to the police problems in the area. VOTE: Ayes: Noes: Absent: Comm. Collis, Lagan, Stabler, Toole -and Chairman Noble Comm. Mulfinger Comm.
