A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF
HERMOSA BEACH DENYING ITS OWN PROPOSAL TO AMEND
SECTIONS 1203 AND 1222 OF CZO N. S. 154, REGULATING
COMBINED LOTS.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at a public lrnaring
held December 6, 1972, considered its own proposal to amend Sections 1203 and
1222 of C. z. o. N. s. 154, providing that combined lots may not be re-divided; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, it was established that existing lot subdivision
in some low density areas of the city exceeded the recommendations of the general
Plan; and
WHEREAS, a high percentage of such small lots are in "combined lot" ownership
and development at this time; and
WHEREAS, property owner-residents spoke in favor of the ordinance amendment
in order to keep density low, and property owner non-residents along with property
owner residents spoke in opposition, indicating their intention in buying combined
lots was to remove dwellings and re-divide; and
WHEREAS, it was indicated by the City Planner that other cities had similar laws,
but the legal status was largely untested; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration it is the opinion of the Planning Commission
that subject regulations would not be in the best interests of the city;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of Hermosa
Beach hereby recommends that said ordinance not be adopted.
