A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSICN
OF HERMOSA BEACH RECOMMENDING AN ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT REQUIRING 2:1 PARKING OR CONOOMINIUMS
NOT BE AOOPTED .
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of Hermosa Beach, at a
public hearing held January 17, 1973, considered the adoption
of an amendment to Ordinance N.s. 154, as amended, to provide
that: 1"Condominium dwellings shall provide two off .. street
parking spaces per dwelling uni ts"'; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing it was determined that adoption
of said regulation would preclude conversion of most apartments
now existing in the City; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, it is the opinion of the Com"
mission that owner"occupied units would be preferrable to ren"
tal units even with 1½:l parking; and
WHEREAS, restrictions relating to building code conformance
could exclude older 1:1 or no"parking apartment conversions;
NCM THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that: the City Planning Commission
of Hermosa Beach hereby recommends that the proposed ordinance
not be adopted, and that a regulation be adopted requiring all
condominium conversions to meet the 1967 Building Code.

Ayes: Comm . Collis, Mulfinger, Lagan, Stabler and Chair-
man Noble
Noes: None
Absent: Comm 0 Toole and Watters
